Cut off Shorts

I have always been self-conscious of my legs, for whatever reason. We all have those parts of ourselves that we are not entirely comfortable with. I have owned shorts, but they rarely make an appearance. I almost always opt for jeans or a dress. But, post baby, I have this new appreciation for my body. I love it and its flaws. Growing and birthing a human being is remarkable and it has left me with a, this body is a badass kind of mentality.

Now that I have a tiny little sponge walking around our house, more than ever, I want to be sure to portray a good self-image of myself in front of BB. She is going to grow up loving every little bit of herself. This summer, I am wearing cut offs and I am going to feel GOOD in them!

I went a little crazy during the Shopbop sale and bought a few too many pairs, but I could not turn down 25% off brand names that rarely go on sale. Here are my thoughts and a handful of shameless selfies:

The Moussy MV Sunnyside cut-offs are my favorite. They are tight around the waist, loose through the hips, and not too short. I will be chasing around a little speed demon all summer, so I need a little extra length. I also love Moussy denim because it does not stretch out. I wore these all weekend long!

The black AGOLD Jaden High Rise are a close second. I live in black jeans most of the year, so black cut offs are a necessity.

I love the white, J Brand Ivy High Rise, but they are too big. So size down if you order them.

The denim Parker Vintage Look AGOLD pair is a great color, but the hips flare out just a bit too much for me.

I really wanted to love the Levi’s 501 Selvedge, because I love my Levi’s jeans, but they are too short and too low around the waist for me.

I rounded up all five from as many places as I could find and also linked some other contenders, below.
