The fanny pack came back with a vengeance and a new name a couple seasons ago. Apparently, now we call it a belt bag. This is one of those polarizing trends. You either love it or hate it. But, it has stuck around for a couple seasons now, and Gucci just dropped the most amazing belt bag, so I think it’s safe to say this trend is here to stay.
I have had my eye on this See by Chloe belt bag, but in the spirit of my May challenge (read more about it here) and super low budget, I held off. Then this baby went on sale and I knew it was fate. It is on sale and comes in both camel and black. I linked my other favorites at the bottom of the post.
I have said it before but I will say it again. As a mama, being hands-free is everything. When I can be hands-free and look cute at the same time, even better. I love this belt bag because it can be styled so many different ways. Since my shopping budget is low, this month has been all about repurposing old items of clothing and creating new looks. This studded belt bag added a little pop of fun to some simple and easy ensembles.
This weekend was one of those rare times when we had no plans. We took BB to the Children’s Museum on Friday. I went there once before I had a baby with my nephews and I thought it was quite possibly the worst place on earth. Dirty, swimming with whiny kids, your basic nightmare. It’s funny how having a baby changes things so much and you don’t even notice. I told Blake as we were leaving that I just had the most fun I have ever had in my entire life watching BB run from room to room. My cheeks actually hurt from smiling so much. On Saturday we dropped BB at my parents and Blake and I spent the entire day together and had NO plans. We roamed around Wicker Park, ate at Big Star and went to Tapster (the coolest place BTW) then had a massive steak dinner at Swift & Sons. We were on the couch by 8pm watching Homeland, which is my version of a perfect Saturday night. On Sunday we spent the day in Lincoln Park with BB and George. And…I wore my belt bag all.weekend.long.
So, here is my new fanny pack, styled three ways this weekend.
