Turning 30 was not really a thing for me. I did not stress about the number and I did not make a big to do about the milestone. But when I think about who I was in my 20s and who I am, so far, in my 30s there are a few things that have definitely changed. I (think) I know who I am and what I want. I am generally content with where I am today, and not obsessing about where I will be in 5 years. That was a big thing in my 20s. What will life after college look like, where will I go to law school, what type of law will I practice….there was always the next step to stress about. 30 feels GOOD. I am not rushed and life is just happening.

30 has also made me realize I spent $$$ on so much waste in my 20s. I spent so much money on poorly made clothes and home decor that lasted a season then were tossed. We’ve been in the midst of some serious spring cleaning and the number of BAD throw pillows I have thrown away is embarrassing. I’ve realized that there are some things that is pays to spend MORE on because they will last. Quality over quantity is my 3o year old mentality. As I tackle this next decade, there are a few things I will never ever compromise on again.

My coffee.

My morning cup needs to be GREAT. We get the good freshly roasted beans, we grind them every morning and we brew them in our overpriced but amazing coffee maker.

My wine.

Cheap wine is a thing of my past. No hangover is worth the $ saved. When we pop open a bottle, it’s the good stuff.

My shoes.

Our feet get us where we need to be. Bad shoes can ruin my entire day. Shoes are not the area to compromise. Buy the cheap shirts, jeans, bags, but save your money for the nicer pair of shoes.

And finally, and most importantly, my bedding.

I want my bed to be my sanctuary. Something I am dying to climb into at the end of the day. I want to feel like I am on vacation every night of my life. You know those great vacation sheets and comforters? Yep, that is what I need on my bed.

Slowly but surely we’ve been upgrading our bed and it FINALLY feels like the bed my 30 year old self was meant to slip into every night. I knew I wanted a neutral bed, but ALL white can feel a little too sterile for me. As soon as I saw THIS CStudio Home geo print pillow, I knew that was what we needed to design our bed around. When it comes to decorating, it can be hard to know where to start. I find that if you really fall in love with one thing, whether its a dresser, couch, or even just a throw pillow, go with that and design the rest from there! We did the same thing with our nursery for bb. I fell in love with an antique dresser, and the rest of the room just pulled together from there.

I am also crazy particular about the weight of my down comforter and the fluffiness (is that a word?) of my pillows. If the down fill is too heavy, I get so hot while I am sleeping. Too light and I get cold. CStudio Home has three different weights for their down comforters, so you can pick which weight feels best to you! And the pillows are perfection. The perfect amount of fluff so I feel like I am falling into a cloud when my head hits the bed.

So here is the full look we went with! You can find all of our selections HERE. But I linked them individually below!
