Alright, I know you have seen 9 million of these posts. This is either your favorite time of year or the most annoying time of the year. Ready or not, you’re in for 3 weeks of bloggers talking about this sale non-stop. I seriously considered skipping it because I am sick of hearing about the sale already and it is the first day. But it would feel so wrong and disingenuous to skip posting about this sale when I buy 75% of my fall + winter wardrobe every year at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. There is always a fine line between posting what you think people want to hear and what actually is you. Well, this sale is me. I’ve been shopping it since I was in high school and think it is the BEST sale of the year. Blake has had it on his calendar for a month because I am taking the day off (mom wise) to head to Nordstrom the moment the doors open at 10am. When he asked if I would be home by lunchtime, I laughed. See you at bedtime, hubby.
I literally budget for this time of year because I know I am dropping a major wad today and over the next couple weeks. I set my alarm for 6am (which I NEVER do) and woke up to shop the sale ;). There are few things in this world I would sacrifice sleep for, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is one of them. I am not sponsored by Nordstrom, they did not pay me to write this post (goals), I just truly am a Nordstrom Anniversary sale junky! Last year, my sale finds literally fueled my outfits for the majority of the Fall + Winter

First, what you need to shop the sale today –> a Nordstrom credit card. I am not telling you to open another credit card, but if you’re wondering why you cannot get access to the sale, that’s why. If you do decide to open a card or you already have one, make sure you choose to use your triple points day on whichever day you make the majority of your sale purchases!
Ok, now let’s talk strategy, because it is a MASSIVE sale and most people are not crazy like me and will not spend hours looking through each and every item on the website. Think about what you need, and filter. Booties, jackets, leggings…whatever you are in the market for, filter and find it!
Here are the things I buy almost every year…and the first two things you should shop because they go FAST!
JACKETS
I honestly do not know if I have purchased a non Nordstrom Anniversary Sale jacket in the past 5 years…maybe that’s an exaggeration, but at least 80% of my coats + jackets come from this sale. Obsessed with this moto jacket! Hello, gorgeous, this leopard jacket was the first thing to go in my cart. This fuzzy pink jacket is what my dreams are made of. Lots of burnt re/orange going on this year! Not sur ehow I feel about it but bought this jacket to try it out! This is a MAJOR splurge, but I had to order it. If I am not 100% in love with it when it ships, I will return it. For $500+ I need to be in LOVE with it. On the oother end of the spectrum, this jacket is only $52 and I can already tell it will be a staple for me next fall/winter! Another splurge, but OMG, this fur. I’ve been in the market for a white jacket, so this one went in my cart!
BOOTS
winter is coming (yay, winter is my favorite season!) and I know I will want new boots when the temps start to drop…so stock up now before prices go back up. These white ones, drooling! Obsessed with these Rag & Bone! These are in my cart, obsessed! So are these lace up booties!
