one look, accessorized three ways

I feel like every time I write a blog post, I mention how busy we have been lately. So I guess that is just the season of life we are in and I need to adjust to our new normal. I will keep dreaming of a time when life moves a little bit slower. In the meantime, I have been adjusting the way we operate at our house to accommodate this fast paced life we are living.

First, long gone are the days when I could take an hour to get ready. I consider myself VERY lucky if I get to wash my hair 2 times during the week. Wash my hair AND dry it at the same time and I am riding on easy street. Hence lots of air dried hairstyles and beauty hacks. In terms of outfitting, I started organizing my closet in a new way. I have always kept my closet color coordinated and separated by type. Tee shirts lumped together in color order, then long sleeves, then blouses, then sweaters, etc. But lately, I added a new section to my closet. You could call it the greatest hits or current top 10 section of my closet. Those items that I am loving, know look good every time I put them on and are really, really, ridiculously easy to style. When push comes to shove and I have taken the entire hour I usually allot to getting ready picking out which princess dress bb should wear, I know I can head to the section of that closet and get ready in 1 minute tops.

This new method of closet organizing has also inspired me to shop differently. If I cannot envision any given item styled at least 3 different ways, I do not buy it. I need practical pieces that are comfy, easy to wear, suited to mom life but still trendy and fun.

If you have seen me in the last month, you know that THIS $26 Zara shirt is not just in my top 10, but my literal #1 right now. It meets all my criteria. Comfy AF, easy to wear, easy to mom in, can be dressed up, and it is still trendy & cute. I am loving metallics right now, loving oversized tees and LOOOOOVING all things Zara, per usual.

When in doubt, I throw on this tee + my favorite pair of leggings. It literally works for all occasions. Date night, brunch, errands, moming, you name it. I need more items in my closet exactly like this.

Three outfits, exactly the same top + leggings just accessorized three different ways….getting dressed should always be this easy.
